Official Media Release - Scottish Umpires to u19 World Cup
CSMOA are delighted to announce that both Allan Haggo and David McLean have been appointed to officiate at the u19 World Cup in the West Indies in January and February 2022. Allan and David are only the second and third Scottish umpires to be invited to a u19 World Cup, so this is a tremendous achievement for them both and is a testament to their dedication and hard work as well as reflecting excellent recent performances in International series and events.

Ian Ramage, CSMOA International & Regional Umpires Manager said "I'm really pleased for Allan and David and delighted they have been able to accept the appointment. The ICC consider an U19 World Cup as the pinnacle for an umpire from an Associate nation, so this is great for them, CSMOA and Cricket Scotland. I'm sure they will do well and represent Scotland with aplomb and I hope they really enjoy the experience."

Allan and David depart for the West Indies on 1st January 2022, with the event running through January and into early February.

It is with sadness that CSMOA wish to acknowledge the passing of John McIntear. Although not directly involved in cricket officiating in Scotland, John had virtually met with some of our members in the early stages of CSMOA before the start of this season in an advisory role looking to the future of disability cricket in Scotland and increasing our diversity of both players and officials.

One of John's lifetime ambitions was to officiate in a fixture at the Grange Cricket Club, unfortunately the ongoing restrictions had not allowed that to be scheduled yet.

John had recently been appointed as Match Manager and Referee for the forthcoming ECB Disability Premier League. We hope John's enthusiasm and work with Sports Officiating in a Powered Wheelchair (SOPW) will continue https://www.sopw.org/
